In sales and marketing the sales manager position is the most important and rewarding jobs. But because of today's economy these good opportunities are not easy to find. Many times people find that the opportunity to make money just does not exist where they are currently at. So they join those who are already out running looking for that perfect job.

Some will say that for great sales management, all you need to do is to manage the team, go to the company meetings, set your targets, then relax while the team does the work and the commissions start rolling in. But this isn't true! You must take total responsibility for your team's success. As a manager, you are going to be the sole point of success or of failure for the sales personnel who work under you in the field. Your job includes, particularly, motivating them to meet the daily and quarterly as well as the monthly bottom lines.

But what to do now if you need or desire a new opportunity? Many are looking into what we call a direct sales or network marketing business. Traditional examples of this type of business are insurance and real estate. As a licensed agent, you are in business for yourself. As well, you can recruit sales people to work under you; training them and helping them be successful. Now you are a broker. The direct sales industry works in a similar way. In either case, you are still a sales manager!

There's great opportunity for you to transition your career into your own business.

Whichever kind of opportunity fits you, just remember, if you're in direct sales, you will get out of it what you put into it. You can make a little, you can make a lot, and it's all up to you. Many direct sales companies offer fantastic opportunities, with virtually unlimited income possibilities. How you respond is entirely up to you. If you can make good use of your recruiting skills, manage your time well, and put the effort necessary into building your team, now is the time to look into this outstanding chance for success.

Sales manager jobs are perceived to be lucrative where the manager has to just give feedback and earn commissions. But this is not true, as a sales manager is responsible for both success and failure of his team. With recession setting in, people are looking for sales job likes real estate and insurance sales. Real estate broker job is almost similar to marketing, as the same skills are needed here and there are many companies offering such business opportunities. Before taking up a job with them, get opinion from trustworthy sources, and once you join there are endless opportunities for increasing your income, depending on your capabilities.
