How to Write An Autoresponder Series of Follow Up Email Messages

by Shamain Scott

The key to making sales using an autoresponder is well-written follow up email messages. Most web site visitors don't buy anything on the first visit. Normally it takes 6 or 7 visits before they finally make a purchase. The trick is keeping them interested for as long as long as it takes to make the sale. To accomplish this, you'll need to craft innovative yet captivating follow up email messages.

In your autoresponder email series, the first message you send out serves as an introduction to you and your business (or the product or service you are promoting). This first email is very important because it sets the tone for the rest of the follow up email message series to follow. If your reader gets bored now, it's not a good sign. Take the time to craft a well-written first message, and you will increase the likelihood that your reader will continue reading your subsequent emails.

In your second follow up email message, let your readers know about your products and services. Most people are immune to advertising and marketing, so the hard sell approach is not what I'm talking about here. Use a conversational style and have the intention to truly be of service. Be sure to explain what your products do and how your readers can benefit from using them.

Another effective technique for getting sales is to include comparisons between what you offer and what your competitors are offering. Potential customers can then clearly see that you are indeed the best, with the best features and the best prices. All it takes is a few satisfied customers, and your credibility rating will go way up. When a customer is satisfied, he will let you and others know. That's called a "testimonial" and you can use it in a future email.

If you end all your emails with a teaser, it is more likely your readers will be eager to receive your next message. Don't forget to include your contact and order information in all your messages (perhaps at the end). It's a good idea to make it easy for readers to order your product or service easily. Take the time to create a gem of an autoresponder series for your follow up email messages and you'll reap the rewards of increased customer loyalty and sales.

Do your homework and research autoresponders on the blog that talks all about it and get the best advice on follow up email marketing.
